THE TRIALS OF JOB
(Part 2)
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: But I will maintain mine own ways before him. Job 13:15 KJV
When you read from the Easy to Read Version, it says,
I will continue to trust God even if he kills me. But I will defend myself to his face.Job 13:15 ERV
What a statement!!!
Job made this statement not before he lost everything and fell sick but after He lost everything and fell sick.
Everything had been taken away from Job and all he had left was his life but still he said even if God decides to kill him, he will still trust God.
Job was actually saying no circumstances or situation or calamity would stop him from continuing to believe in God.
Job was even told by his wife to curse God and die but he didn’t.
Was Job crazy? Did he lose his mind? Was he under a spell or brainwashed?
Even after all you’ve been through, you are still gonna trust God and serve Him?
Could God not have been able to stop this calamity from happening to you?
You have been faithful and obedient to him but still he allowed you to lose your children, health and wealth.
How can a loving father allow you to be subject to such suffering and calamity? Can’t you see that God doesn’t love you and has abandoned you?
In times of trials and suffering, we must be careful not to listen or think about what the enemy whispers to our ears.
The enemy will always try to make you doubt who God is and His love for you when going through a tough season.
David said, I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalms 34:1 NKJV)
When Job lost everything, satan was expecting Job to curse God but Job blessed the Name of the Lord.
When the unexpected or something tragic happens, are you going to bless or curse God? Are you going to keep trusting God or doubt God? Are you going to stay with God or turn your back on Him?
“David said he will bless the Lord at all times.”
I want you to know that it’s not going to be sunny all the time, there comes a time when it will get stormy.
Things won’t go well all the time, there comes a time when things may get bad.
But David said regardless of the time I am in and no matter what my situation may look like, I will still bless and praise God.
We are to have an attitude of praise and worship no matter the situation we find ourselves.
When it’s sunny, praise God.
When it gets stormy, praise God.
No matter the trials, persecution, affliction, suffering or tribulation, praise God.
No matter where you are and how things are for you currently, keep serving God.
Though your prayers weren’t answered, continue to trust and praise God.
Though you lost my job, home or car, continue to trust and praise God.
Though things didn’t go as planned, continue to trust and praise God.
Though God didn’t show up when you expected him to, continue to trust and praise God.
Though you lost a loved one, continue to trust and praise God.
Though you are currently sick in your body, continue to trust and praise God.
Though you been persecuted or treated cruely at school or at your working place, continue to trust and praise God.
Though you’ve been through so much pain, abuse, trauma and rejection, continue to trust and praise God.
God loves you and is with you dosen’t mean you won’t go through a tough time and going through a tough time dosen’t mean God hates or has forsaken you.
Remember Paul and Silas. Though they were beaten with rods and unjustly imprisoned, they still praised God and prayed to him.
What we are going through or will go through, can’t be compared to what Job went through, but if he could bless God and remain faithful in the midst of it all, we too can also bless God and remain faithful.
